Short Story Competition 2021

Our annual Writing Prize is back and excitingly being judged by the critically acclaimed, heavyweight historian and best-selling author Robert Harris. 

We are incredibly grateful to Robert Harris, for generously taking time out from writing his latest blockbuster, and judging our Short Story Competition 2021.  Robert Harris is a former journalist and BBC reporter who has now become one of Britain's most renowned prize winning authors, having written 14 heavy weight, historical fiction, best sellers.

The competition this year is open to all students up to current Year 11.  All you have to do is write a short story of no more than 1200 words on any setting and genre. It can be comic or tragic, period or sci-fi - just make sure it's your best!  The judges, presided over by Robert Harris, will personally choose A winner and 2 runners up. 

The setting and genre are entirely for you to decide, just make sure it’s under 1200 words. The Judges will be looking for: An entertaining narrative, based in a convincing setting with believable characters.
